What's Web3?

Web3 (or Web 3.0) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s the third version, or iteration of the world wide web.

Web3 is still evolving. But the fundamental idea is that it will blend important traits such as decentralization, token-based economics, and blockchain technologies.

Web3 will redirect ownership (and decision making) of the internet to the community as a whole versus a small group of people. Think of it like this… you could own a little piece of the internet vs. only a few big tech companies owning it all.

This is a good thing.

Fun fact. The term Web3 was first coined by a pretty smart guy named Gavin Wood. He is the founder of Polkadot, and a co-founder of Ethereum.
